Introduction
Out of Office Assistant allows users to configure the app based on their working style and different usage scenarios.
Available options
Do not reassign back to coverer if I am assigning to myself
This option is useful when you are still diligently checking on Jira during your vacation.
For those special tasks that you will like to handle yourself, you can reassign them back to yourself only when this option is enabled. Otherwise, OOO Assistant will reassign them back to the coverer again.
Allow the coverer to reassign back to me when I am Out-of-Office
In some cases, the coverer may feel that it is better for the original assignee to handle the task.
This option prevents OOO Assistant from reassigning back to the coverer again.
So you may need to coordinate with your coverers on the desired arrangement.
Out of office reply when mentioned in comment or description
While OOO Assistant is mainly used for updating the assignee, it is also able to alert fellow users when the OOO user is tagged in description or comments.
This option can be used to allow OOO Assistant to post Out-of-office reply automatically when the mentioned user is away from office.
Share OOO Details in Issue View
This feature is located on the right side of the issue view to provide immediate visibility regarding the availability of the Reporter or Assignee.

Exclusion Filter Type
There are some cases where Out of Office checks are not required:
-
Updates to closed work items
-
Certain project spaces where reassignment should not happens
-
When housekeeping is done to reassign from deactivated users
By default, the Jira admin can configure the Default Exclusion Filter which is applied to all Jira users.
If the updates matches the criteria of the exclusion filter, the Out of Office checks will be skipped for that work item.
You can use this option if you need to override the default settings.
The following options are available:
