Unable to display gadget due to missing filter

Background

Sometimes, the gadget cannot be rendered. Instead it displays the error message "An internal server error occurred when requesting resource"

Solution

A possible reason is that the filter has been deleted or sharing permission revoked.

Notes

Even though the filter has been deleted, the filter name is displayed when the gadget is edited. This is because the name of the filter is already stored as the gadget preferences.
