Configuration

The settings are categorised into the following tabs:


File Type Blocking

Refer to Restrict attachments by file type for more info on the filtering.

Settings

Description

Filter Mode

Filter mode for uploaded attachments:

  • Allowlist - Only configured file extensions are allowed DEFAULT

  • Denylist - Only configured file extensions are blocked

Extensions

List of comma delimited file extensions to be filtered.

MIME Type Check

Checks the MIME type of the uploaded attachment:

  • Enabled DEFAULT

  • Disabled

MIME Type checking provides additional protection because it is not possible to bypass file type checks by renaming the file extension.

Exceptions

Always allow files without extension

  • Checked (Allow)

  • Unchecked (Block) DEFAULT

Always allow password protected Microsoft Office files

  • Checked (Allow)

  • Unchecked (Block) DEFAULT

Always allow Microsoft Office files encrypted with sensitivity labels

  • Checked (Allow)

  • Unchecked (Block) DEFAULT

Error Message

The error message to display when invalid files are being attached to the issue.

For example:

This file type is not allowed.

Actor

The user to add comment when attachments have been deleted due to invalid extension/mime type.

Leave blank to set as Anonymous.

Comment Visibility SERVICE DESK

The security level of the comment added:

  • Public (Comments will be Public unless triggered by Service Desk Team)

  • Internal (All comments will be internal) DEFAULT

File Size Checking

Refer to Limit the file size for different user groups for more info on setting the file size limits.

Description

File Size Check

To check file size of uploaded attachment:

  • Enabled

  • Disabled DEFAULT

Error Message

The error message to display when file size exceeds the limit.

For example:

The file size has exceeded the maximum size limit.

Total Size Limit

The total attachment size limit per issue.

Enter '0' for no limit.

Total Size Limit Error Message

The error message to display when total attachment size in issue exceeds the limit.

For example:

The total attachment size in this issue has exceeded the limit.

Count Limit

Settings

Description

Max Attachment Limit

The maximum number of attachments allowed per issue.

Enter '0' for no limit.

If no attachments are allowed, admins can revoke the Create Attachments permission in the permission schemes.

Error Message

The error message to display when number of attachments in the issue has reached the limit.

For example:

The number of attachments in this issue has reached the limit.

Duplicate Blocking

Settings

Description

Block Same Filename

Prevent users from uploading when there is an existing attachment with the same filename:

  • Yes

  • No DEFAULT

Error Message

The error message to display when there is an existing attachment with the same filename.

For example:

There is another file with the same name. Please check and rename your file.

Delete Duplicates

To delete all duplicates except the oldest version:

  • Yes

  • No DEFAULT

Actor

The user to delete duplicates and add comment.

Leave blank to set as Anonymous.

Comment Visibility SERVICE DESK

The security level of the comment added:

  • Public (Comments will be Public unless triggered by Service Desk Team)

  • Internal (All comments will be internal) DEFAULT

Disable Comment

Disable issue commenting when duplicates are deleted:

  • Yes

  • No DEFAULT

Disable Update Notification

Disable issue updated notification when duplicates are deleted:

  • Yes

  • No DEFAULT

Virus Scanning

Refer to Additional steps for virus scanning set up for more detailed steps.

Description

Missing File Check

Add comment to alert user if the file is missing after they are uploaded:

  • Enabled

  • Disabled DEFAULT

Virus Scanning

Scan attachments for virus after they are uploaded:

  • Enabled

  • Disabled DEFAULT

Scanner Path

The full path to the command line scanner.

For example:

CODE
/usr/bin/clamscan

Additional Options

The additional options for the command line scanner. Leave empty if not required.

Exception Handling

If file is infected

Check the checkbox to:

  • Delete file

  • Email Jira Sysadmin Group

Any other errors

Check the checkbox to:

  • Delete file

  • Email Jira Sysadmin Group

Jira Sysadmin Group

The group to send an email on the details of the occurrence.

Alert Message

The error message to be added as comment when an infected file is detected.

Filename of the infected file will be included in the comment.

Actor

The user to add the virus alert comment.

Leave blank to set as Anonymous.

  • Public (Comments will be Public unless triggered by Service Desk Team)

Notifications

Settings

Description

Event to Fire

The event to fire when attachments are added/removed. This event can be used in the notification scheme.

It is recommended to create a separate Attachment Updated event.

Attachment Download Log

Refer to Restrict attachment downloads for more info on how to restrict groups and/or project roles from downloading attachments.

Logging Mode

Keep track of the user and date time of attachment downloads:

  • Enabled

  • Disabled DEFAULT

Look and Feel

Refer to Display text for attachment upload for more info.

Attachment Field Text

The text to display in the Attachment field in issue view screen.

Supported variables:

  • ${totalSizeLimit}

  • ${maxAttachmentLimit}

Show Attachment Limits

Show attachment limits used and available in the Attachment field:

  • Enabled

  • Disabled DEFAULT
